Clarabelle |
Katahdin |
On Monday 2/14/11 Clarabelle, a Katahdin ewe was
found to be in a very difficult labor with a
prolapse. Her delivery was assisted by a vet
that came to the farm and after much work he
delivered triplets. Clarabelle went through a
very difficult labor and with life on the farm
things don't always go as planned.
Unfortunately, Clarabelle died peacefully around
midnight that night of post- birth
complications. She will be missed greatly in the
breeding sheep flock. With this sorrow comes a
bittersweet joy... The triplets at this time
are doing okay and are all good size lambs.
Arriving first was a boy named Aiden, with a
black coat, second to arrive was another boy
with a beautiful brown coat named Kael, and last
to arrive was a spunky girl with a black coat
named Bridget. The triplets are being bottle fed
by the owner at home. |
