Jim Rausch was elected President of the Friends of Kinder Farm Park in January 2009. Prior to that he served for two years as Vice President and has been on the Board of Directors for over 10 years. During much of his professional career, Jim worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in congressional affairs. He retired from the Corps in 2003 and took the position of Executive Director of the Dredging Contractors of America (DCA), a trade association based in Washington, D.C. Jim retired from DCA in December 2008. He is married, has two adult daughters, lives in Severna Park, and now devotes much of his time to the Friends Group. Michele Rose currently serves as the Vice-president of the Friends of Kinder Farm Park for 2009, as well as the Chairperson of the Fall Harvest Festival, the premier fundraising event of the group. She is one of the founding members of the organization and served as the first president for three years. Michele, by profession, is a registered nurse, having worked at the previous North Arundel Hospital for 13 years, primarily in the Intensive Care Unit and Intravenous Therapy, before leaving to raise her family of four sons. She now works in the office of her husband a local internist, Dr. David Rose. Much of her spare time has been spent volunteering for her children’s schools, in her community of Kilmarnock and with the Greater Severna Park Council, as well as the Friends group. Joe was elected Treasurer of the Friends of Kinder Farm Park in 2005. Before that, he served as Secretary for four years, and has had an associated with the Friends for over ten years. Joe has been retired from the Johns Hopkins University since 2000. He worked for JHU for twenty seven years in what is now known as the IT department, dealing mainly in the Alumni Affairs, Gifts, Financial and Telephone systems. Joe and his wife Joyce have lived in Millersville for 22 years and have two grown daughters and three grandkids. Beside the Park, Joe volunteers for the Pathfinder Organization at BWI where he also volunteers for the Honor fight Network, which brings WWII veterans from around the US to visit DC and the WWII Memorial.
